I got selected as Assistant Professor at Baroda Medical College and SSGH. I gained experience in diagnosis and treatment of varied surgical conditions at SSGH during my association with it for 4 years.
Having gained confidence and adequate hands on experience I started my private practice.
I have special interest and expertise in laparoscopic and urological work.

I was having a problem with heavy bleeding for the last 2 years. It was so heavy that my haemoglobin level was down to the count of '7'.
We approached Dr Ushma Maniar. She advised me to get operated on for uterus removal. My operation was done on 17.4.2021. It was a laparoscopic surgery and I could go home the very next day.
From 20.4.2021 I could freely move in the house and do little work. I was advised by the doctor to work after a week and soon I resumed my work.
The things I particularly liked about the hospital are:
1. The hospital is neat and clean.
2. The staff is caring and polite
3. The doctor listened to my problem patiently, Dr Ushma is emphatic.
4. I am a 'tea addict'. Prior to surgery even drinking water is not allowed. Considering this Dr Ushma planned my surgery early in the morning at 6 am and hence I did not have to live without tea for a long time. I am really THANKFUL to Dr Ushma for that.
5. The sisters give injections so lightly that you don't even realize that you are injected. It is not the case with one sister, all sisters do it that way. I was really amazed by this fact.
6. The most important gesture of Dr Ushma Maniar that moved me is that the room we hired for had some problem with the bell. Due to corona, they allowed only one attendant with the patient. At times my husband would rush home to get things for me and without a bell, it was impossible for me to call the nurse. Fixing the problem cold have taken 4 to 5 hours as per the electrician. Instead of disturbing me, Dr Ushma arranged for a portable bell that would intimate the nurses when I needed them. TAT WAS A BIG HELP
7. BUT THE DOCTOR IS STRICT.
8. My operation was done when corona was at its peak. I found that Dr Ushma herself was wearing 2 masks and made it compulsory for the patients and visitors.
Even at night while sleeping we(me and my husband) had to wear it. Even when I was brought out of the OT post-operation, I was wearing a mask. THIS SHOWS HOW MUCH YOU CARE. THANKS A TON.
